KENDRICK LAMAR is 27 years old, and he just released his third album, and apparently, he's already done enough to impress the California State Senate. They just recognized him as a "Generational Icon," and gave him a plaque. A senator said, quote, "In less than 10 years, Mr. Lamar has gone from a local Compton young boy to become a multiplatinum, Billboard chart-topping, two-time Grammy Award-winning musician. But Mr. Lamar hasn't let his recent fame get the best of him. If you visit Compton, and I'd encourage all of [you] to do so, he's a familiar face in the neighborhood." (Here's video. Kendrick gets his plaque at the 2:50 mark.)
